Completed Erosion Control Work

The erosion control work we started last fall has been completed. The beaches at Geneva-on-the-Lake are minimal again this summer, but we’re hoping that the extra set of rings will prevent any further erosion of our bank.

COVID-19 Update for Summer 2021

Spring sunrise at Rawdon Cottages

*UPDATED 6/2/2021

We’re looking forward to what we hope will be a more normal summer this year! However, for everyone’s safety, we will be continuing some of the changes we made last summer.

We have always preferred that guests bring their own linens. This summer, as in 2020, we cannot provide linens, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The beds will have mattress pads and pillows with washable zippered pillow covers, but you will need to bring the following items with you from home:

  • Pillowcases
  • Sheets (bed sizes for each cottage can be found on the webpage for that cottage)
  • Blankets
  • Bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths
  • Kitchen towels and oven mitts/potholders

The State of Ohio’s mask mandate appears to be still in effect, as of April 5, 2021. We ask that you bring masks so that you’ll have them when necessary.

Guidance from the State of Ohio as of May 17: “Except in certain limited circumstances, fully vaccinated persons may safely do most activities without a facial covering and without socially distancing….Persons who are not fully vaccinated should continue to wear a mask, socially distance, avoid large gatherings, and whenever possible, be outside for activities and gatherings.”

Because we won’t be asking our guests about their vaccination status, we again ask that you follow social distancing practices in common areas of the Rawdon Cottages property with regard to guests who are not in your party. In addition, we request that you wear a mask if you are indoors with Roberta, or anyone else who is not in your party.

As of June 2, the State of Ohio has lifted the mask and social distancing mandates but still recommends that unvaccinated people wear masks and social distance when indoors. We will not be asking our guests about their vaccination status, but we ask that UNVACCINATED guests wear a mask or social distance when indoors with Roberta.

If anyone in your party is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, you must cancel your reservation! We can transfer your reservation (and deposit) to the same week next year (2022) if necessary.

As always, we thank you for staying with us.

Changes for Summer 2020

Spring at Rawdon Cottages

We are open for the summer, but have had to make a few changes for everyone’s safety.

In the past, we have provided blankets and, sometimes, bed linens. However, we will not be able to provide either this summer. The beds will have mattress pads and pillows with washable zippered pillow covers, but you will need to bring the following items with you from home:

  • Pillowcases
  • Sheets (bed sizes for each cottage can be found on our website at www.rawdoncottages.com)
  • Blankets
  • Bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths
  • Kitchen towels and oven mitts/potholders

So even if you requested linens with your reservation, you will need to bring your own (the linens charge will be removed from your bill).

In addition, because of current shortages, you will also need to bring the following:

  • Toilet paper
  • Paper towels
  • Hand sanitizer (if you want it)

We will be cleaning the cottages thoroughly between guests (as usual), but we won’t be offended if you want to bring your own disinfectant products.

The State of Ohio is currently recommending, but not requiring, that people wear masks in public. However, businesses may require that customers wear masks. We encourage you to bring masks so that you’ll have them when necessary.

UPDATE 7/22

Effective July 23, a statewide mask order is in effect in Ohio. Details can be found here.

We ask that you follow social distancing practices in common areas of the Rawdon Cottages property, particularly with regard to guests who are not in your party. This includes Roberta (vulnerable at age 81), who will be so happy to see everyone that she will likely forget to maintain a safe distance. Please help us protect her!

If anyone in your party is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, you must cancel your reservation! We can transfer your reservation (and deposit) to the same week next year (2021). On the other hand, if everyone is healthy, we hope you’ll maintain your reservation—we appreciate, and need, your business.

As always, thank you for staying with us!
